Tickets for the Columbia City Ballet’s performance of “Beauty and the Beast” are on sale TODAY for members. The general public will be able to purchase tickets on Wednesday, March 1. Adult tickets are $25 and tickets for children are $20. Ticket sales have been “brisk” this morning so we encourage you to make your ticket purchase early. The box office will be open from 10 am until 4 pm Monday through Thursday. The performance will be Tuesday, March 21 at 7 pm at Marlboro Civic Center.
Marlboro Civic Center Foundation with The Kinney Foundation proudly announce that the Columbia City Ballet will present “Beauty and the Beast” on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in our theater. The beautiful “tale as old as time” will include local dancers chosen to perform after earlier auditions. Tickets will go on sale February 27 for our members and then on March 1 to the general public. All seats will be reserved. Ticket prices will be $25 for adults and $20 for children. The 2nd Annual Choir Fest will be held at the Marlboro Civic Center and will feature some of the best gospel music and musicians in our area. The date is February 5, 2017 with doors opening at 3:00 pm. The show begins at 4:00 pm. The Super Bowl is a big deal that day BUT so is this show!!!! Come and be uplifted by these fabulous voices as they perform for you on our stage.

The Marlboro County High School Chorus will sponsor “Legends: Past, Present and Future” again this year. A host of talented students will perform for you on Friday and Saturday, January 20 and 21, at 7:00 p.m at the Civic Center. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5. The students have begun rehearsals here in the theater and “Wow”! The vocalists are going to be “leaving it all on stage”. Come out and support the Choral program at MCHS……and hear their singing principal, Dr. Mark Bunch, too.
The Marlboro Players have a reputation for producing great plays and musicals for our audiences. The spring production of “A Doll’s House” will certainly be no exception. This is your opportunity to “take the stage” and become a star. Consider auditioning on January 22 or January 23 at 6 pm at the theater.
When you are going to be 100 years old…….you need an fresh look before the celebration. Right? Well, the Marlboro Civic Center Theater will be 100 years old in 2017.
As soon as our holiday concerts concluded in December, lobby and offices emptied in order for the “freshening up” to begin. Lots of good things are happening each day as the workers busily patch, sand, repair, and prep for painting. This first phase of work will wrap up mid-January and we can’t wait to see the results. We will keep you posted on the progress.
Well, the Marlboro County School District Christmas Concert series is coming to a close. We have been delighted by the School of Discovery’s band and dancers in concert and the MCHS Chorus. What great performances they were! Tonight is your last chance to enjoy the many talents of another group…….School of Discovery Chorus under the direction of Natasha Covington. The concert begins at 6 pm at the theatre. We’ve decked our halls and saved a comfortable seat just for YOU!
The Marlboro School of Discovery Band concert will be held at the Civic Center tonight (Thursday, December 1) at 6 pm. The public is invited to attend. The band will perform a variety of songs but the highlight of the evening will be the classic holiday tunes. This concert will be a great way to usher in December…….you don’t want to miss it!
